REPORT
We introduced a new category into our Flag events today at Aboyne – Advanced Flag Players – for players who’ve ever completed 9 holes in any of our Flag competitions. Going forward, these ‘Advanced’ players will compete in a separate section to the Under 10s & Under 12s categories and any time a new player progresses around a course, going beyond nine holes with their 36 strokes they will be moved into the ‘Advanced’ category.
Although it was a little blowy at Aboyne today thankfully it stayed dry and the sun was out, for the most part. In the Under 10s Boys category, Aiden Watson was the leading player, holing-out at the 7th. Frase Ironside was runner-up with Seth Malcolm claiming 3rd place in his first ever Flag competition. Lois Reid was the leading player in the Under 10s Girls.
The Under 12s Girls saw Lily MacDonald take 3rd place behind Eve Ironside. Catherine Bell playing in her first Flag of the season topped her section by completing the 8th hole.
There was more success for the MacDonald family as Lorne won the Under 12s Boys by making it to the 8th hole. Kyle Marshall finished in 2nd place (8th green) with Adam Black in 3rd place.
In the new Advanced Flag section, Ellis Gain finished in 3rd place. Runner-up was Mitchell Sinclair, who made it to the front edge of the 9th green. Zack Don claimed first prize by finishing by the hole-side at the 9th.
