Deeside was in stunning condition and the weather was beautiful for the juniors taking part in the Foundation’s Junior Open today.

Playing the Blairs course this time around, Rhys Sim edged-out Fraser Laird on a countback as the pair, playing together, both shot two-under par rounds of 66.  Owen Walker was one shot adrift on 67 (-1) whilst Ruaridh Fenwick, Lewis Watt & Jason Bruce all tied one-another’s scores of 68.  Rachel Mathieson’s 71 was the leading scratch score of the girls involved, alongside Max To, also on that number.

In the Nett Competition, Jack O’Halloran required a countback to see of the challenge of Deeside yougster, Ollie Robertson.  The pair both returned nett scores of 62 but Jack edged Ollie after a countback.

Just a shot back on 63 were Max To, Rachel Mathieson & Koby Buchan.

Open to Boys & Girls under 18 on the 1st January 2019, the Foundation’s Junior Open at Deeside counts towards the North East Districts Junior Order of Merit (Boys).

Entrants must hold an official handicap.

Paul Lawrie Foundation will provide every competitor with lunch & soft drink following their round as part of the event ticket price/entry fee.

Competitors & Parents are reminded of Deeside GC dress-code rules which do not permit the wearing of denim on the golf course or within the Clubhouse.  Please adhere to the Club’s policy, as guests at the venue.
