Foundation-supported Professional, Craig Lawrie, earned his maiden Pro victory in the Portugal Pro Tour's Palmares Classic event (22-23 November).
Craig's impressive 12-under-par total, the result of a pair of 66s, came in the opening event of the Portugal Pro Tour's series against a field of 81 fellow Professionals.
Round 1, in particular, was notable as conditions were tough, owing to the strong, gusting winds experienced by all of the players in the field. And although things had improved somewhat for the second round, it was far from straightforward.
Tied in 4th place after the first round, Craig made a quick start to his second round by birdieing his first four holes. He then followed-up with birdies at 10, 13 & 16. A solitary bogey at the 17th hole could not prevent the 22 year-old lifting his first Professional trophy and the 2000 euros winner's cheque.
Hints and tips from Paul and the team.
