Want to compete in tournaments and get invovled?
On a near perfect day (considering the time of year) at Moray Golf Club, the juniors playing in our 3rd 2016/17 Winter Series event could not have enjoyed the New Course in more benign conditions.
The first outing in a month or more, for the majority of the field, following the Festive Holiday break, competitors enjoyed flat-calm and seasonally warm temperatures of around 12 degrees centigrade
In the Scratch section of the competition, Cameron Carnegie's (Kemnay) 72 scooped the first prize ahead of Logan Gillies (Nairn GC), who also carded a 72 but lost out owing to Cameron's superior back 9 score. Steven Pears (Nairn Dunbar) was next best, on 74.
Padraig Murray (Royal Dornoch) romped to victory in the handicap section of the competition as his 63 (78 less 15) was four shots better than second-placed Calum Daun's score (67 - 72 less 5). Finlay Wickenden returned a level par effort of 68 (78 less 10) for 3rd place.
*Note: New Course Par for the event was 68. Winter Rules (mats/play from semi-rough) were in operation.
