Want to compete in tournaments and get invovled?
It was a fine day at Deeside Golf Club for our Junior Open with favourable scoring conditions - a little bit of a breeze, receptive greens and dry overhead conditions. As you'd expect, the course was in excellent condition so it was not surprising that a number of excellent scores were posted.
Owen Walker and Cameron Black both carded excellent sub-par rounds of 68 (-2) to top the scratch section of the competition (with Owen Walker's better last 6 holes the difference between the two players). A shot further back, with a score of 69 (-1), Ellis Gray also broke par to finish a couple of strokes ahead of Finlay Smith on 71 (+1).
Deeside's own Reagan Coffey (14 handicap) carded a nett 65 to scoop the handicap section's top prize, ahead of Ewan Brown who carded the same total off his handicap of seven. Three players - Lewis Ross, Greg Pirie & Matthew Saunders - scored nett 67s.
Once again, a big thank you goes to the staff & members at Deeside Golf Club for having us as their guests. The course, catering and staff are always excellent and Deeside is a great place for the kids to play.
